Dyslexia Information

During the 2024/2025 school year, all K-2 students took the NWEA Map Reading Fluency Dyslexia universal screener.

In kindergarten, 66 students took the screener and 15 students were flagged as ‘at risk.’

In Grade 1, 48 students took the screener and 4 students were flagged as ‘at risk.’

In Grade 2, 63 students took the screener and 2 students were flagged as ‘at risk.’

The 21 students flagged then participated in the MA Rooney MARF Phonics diagnostic assessment. This determines areas the students need support. Support is provided through small group instruction using the IDOE approved Orton-Gillingham approach.
